So Many Offers, So Little Time…
One of the biggest complaints that new affiliates have is that they never know what to run. That there’s too many offers. That the one’s that they do try never seem to convert very well.
Thankfully for you, though — at least if this is a problem that you’ve been having — we’re here today to give you a few choice pieces of advice. You know, because we’re super cool, super kind and extremely nice like that. (You’re welcome!)
First off, the moment you start worrying about which offers to pick amongst the seemingly endless list of all of them is the very same moment that you’ve officially begun wasting your time. Such time that is most certainly much, much better spent researching said offers some more yourself so that you can then figure out which one’s are worth your time and which are not.
Now, while such research can technically just consist of you relentlessly
spamming your Affiliate Manager as to what the best offers are for you to run morning, noon and night, you may want to look into researching these things yourself. Mainly because it’s always good to make sure you’re not relying on someone else in order to find profitable offers — and also because your poor Affiliate Manager is fielding these spam-requests from several hundred different rabid jackal-affiliates just like yourself. The poor guy…
Another method that not many people try out is just picking offers at random and just building campaigns around them. This is an especially sound piece of advice if all of the offers you’ve been picking yourself haven’t been panning out whatsoever. So pick a few at random, build some campaigns around them and test them out. Try and be as completely unbiased as is humanly possible and just roll with it.
If you’re going to travel the road of research, actually put the time and effort in and actually research said offers. Don’t just look at them and make a snap judgement on whether or not you should run it or not based on how much the name makes you smile or giggle or whatever.
This isn’t elementary school recess, boys and girls. It’s the big leagues, so put your damn big boy (or big gal) pants on, do some basic keyword research, look into just how many people are running the said offer in question within your respective CPA network as well as within the industry as a whole. Definitely make sure you look at the given pay-per-click costs in regards to the given offer to make sure you’d be be able to even run a profitable campaign or not if you’re planning on running PPC or PPV or the like as well.
Sure, doing some or all of this is going to take some extra time and most certainly — *GASP* — some actual effort, but if you’re just jumping into offers headfirst with little to no knowledge of what they’ll be all about, you might as well just start lighting your money on fire now and chucking it out of your window whilst on the highway. Cause it’s practically the same thing. (Kind of…)
Of course, if you’re going to put in all of the aforementioned (and suggested) research time, you might as well supplement it all with some helpful advice from your Affiliate Manager as well. He’ll help you, so take advantage of it. Regardless of all this, though, just know that you’re going to have the best possible chance to succeed if you’re actually putting in some work on your end as well.
