As We Move Forward Unto 2013…

As we sit here on the precipice of 2013, it’s naturally a time to look back — a time to look back and take an inventory of what we’ve done, accomplished, achieved, failed at, won, and lost. It’s a time to be thankful, to be regretful, and to take an unabashed, unfiltered look at not just what we’ve done, but also on everything that we need to work on and can improve upon as we head into the New Year.

As much as we forget it, we’re all very, very thankful to be in this industry boys and girls. We’re all very thankful to be able to make our own decisions, be our own bosses, set our own hours and forge relationships as meaningfully close and long-lasting as perhaps any we’ve ever actually formed in real life (despite barely — if sometimes ever — evening actually seeing/meeting/hanging out with said person, in person, at all).

So while every fiber of my being urges me to be all, “Rah-rah-RAH!” and cheer-lead us all into 2013, I’m alternatively going to urge us all — most wholeheartedly — to instead take a step back from the hectic, frantic nature of our everyday lives, and just be… just be thankful for the little things; all the little blessings we’re graced with. And blessings we possess all whilst being critical yet motivated and serious about shoring up and improving on our deficiencies.

Oh yeah, and PS: A very, very belated-yet-still-totally-serious-and-sincere-I-swear-to-you-for-reals Merry Christmas to you all — and to all… a good and prosperous night!

PSS: I almost forgot… GO DO WORK!
