The Infatuation With Procrastination
We’ve all experienced it… Some more than others, of course.
Working at home certainly has its advantages. Indeed, perhaps chief among them is the fact that you work for yourself. However, a direct side effect of this life style is the ever-constant threat of procrastination. Your conscience can be pretty wily at times and you can literally convince yourself to put off absolutely anything — coupled with an inherently reasonable but-at-the-time-it-sounds-absolutely-great kind of excuse.
There are many different methods you can implement to avoid procrastination, however — chief among them having a pre-planned, disciplined and unyielding schedule. Just as if you were working in some droll cubicle from 9-5, you know that you’ll have to work on your affiliate marketing from 9-5. (Or more like 9-9 if you’re truly driven to succeed no matter what the cost.)
Being organized certainly doesn’t hurt either. Knowing what needs to be done on a given day and simply doing it is by far the quickest method to avoid procrastination every single time. However, for those of you who aren’t disciplined enough to do this (see: scheduling out your day, either a day or even a week beforehand) can have some truly positive, tangible effects.
Yes, it’s definitely a blessing to work for yourself from home. However, if you don’t plan your time right and get what needs to be completed all done in a timely manner, well, let’s just say you’re not going to be working for yourself for much longer. It’s no fun to work from home if you’re not making any money at all, that’s for sure… No matter how much fun you have circle-jerking with fellow procrastinators on Facebook or internet related message boards.
If procrastination is truly a problem in your daily and weekly affiliate marketing activities — or if you’re the type who benefits from reading self-help books and the like — then there are several books out there that can help you recognize and help defend against procrastination.
You can click right here for a nice list of books (courtesy of Amazon.com) to help those with procrastination problems not… procrastinate so much anymore. And no, that’s not an affiliate link, so calm down there, bud.
